Yury Maslyaev was born in 1957 in Moscow. Professional photojournalist. Specialised in marine theme. He lives in Moscow. Member of the creative Union of Russian Artists and International Federation of Journalists. He took part in the first Krusenstern sailer circumnavigation aboard this ship in 1995-96. Photos made during this trip made him laureate of the International Professional Photographic Contest InterPressPhoto-97. As a photographer he was a participant to cruises of Kruzenstern, Sedov and Pallada sailers owned by the Russian Federal Agency on Fishery. Yury Maslyaev attended the transatlantic Millenium-2000 race aboard Kruzenstern vessel. In 2001 his photo album Wings Over The Ocean was published. In 2002 his original Sailers Encyclopedia was published as part of Avanta Plus Publishers’ Most Beautiful and Famous series. In 2003-2004 he participated in Fedor Konyukhov’s projects testing velocity catamaran Scarlet Sails Retail Network and preparing Konyukhov’s solo circumnavigation aboard Scarlet Sails maxi yacht. In 2005-2006 he took part in another circumnavigation aboard Kruzenstern sailer as flagship mass media specialist.
